We understand the challenges you face as a farmer so you’ve helped us develop solutions to help make your life easier. To save you time and money, we can combine your organic inspections with other key certification programmes, such as Red Tractor and FAWL.Through our local abattoir and butcher scheme we are able to certify your local butcher and abattoir under your license if there are no organic certified butchers in your area.

You’ll also have access to research and development programmes such as the Duchy Future Farming Programme keeping you informed of the latest innovations and opportunities.

3. Use of the SA organic symbol

You’ll benefit from using the most trusted and widely recognised organic symbol - now appearing on over 70% of organic products in the UK.With access to the organic symbol, you’ll not only be demonstrating your products meet the very highest standards, you’ll also benefit from our consumer campaigns and marketing work designed to grow consumer awareness of the symbol.

Soil Association Certification licensees are growing faster than the market, with an average increase in sales of over 7% last year (2014) versus 4%, the national average.

4. Supply chain support

As a licensee with Soil Association Certification, you’ll benefit from a connected approach to supply chains and exclusive opportunities to grow your business through our network of partners and schemes. We certify across entire supply chains, working with the main processors, feed mills and abattoirs. Working closely with all the multiple and independent retailers on your behalf, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in our annual meet the buyer events and explore new ways to get your products on shelf.

You’ll have the opportunity to join our Catering Mark supplier scheme free of charge. The scheme introduces businesses to new routes to market through the FFL Catering Mark. The scheme boosted sales of organic produce via its supply chain by over £7m in 2014.

5. Unrivalled & dedicated business support

You’ll be able to work directly with us on exciting consumer campaigns such as Organic September designed to increase public engagement with organic and drive consumer demand. The success of these campaigns is down to our close working relationships with our licensees – we want to help tell your story. You’ll have access to our range of marketing materials and tool kits which are designed to help you tell your customers why organic is different and why they should support your business. These toolkits contain leaflets, postcards, posters and also digital assets that can be used on websites and social media.

These are available free of change, exclusively for Soil Association Certification licensees. View our materials here:

You’ll also have access to our ‘Organic Market Report’, and will be invited to our regular trade briefings for businesses and the media – these are not to be missed business networking opportunities.

6. Have your voice heard

By certifying with us, you’re not just reassuring your customers your products are certified to some of the highest possible standards in the industry, you’re also contributing to changing our food systems for the better. The Soil Association works on your behalf to represent the interests of farmers on national and EU policy.

Never has this been more important than through the current CAP negotiations, where your involvement along with others in the sector proved vital to ensure that organic farmers receive maintenance payments as part of the RDPE programme. We believe in a balanced approach to our Policy work ensuring both technical farming issues are addressed as well as the wider environmental impacts.

Join a growing market

As our 2015 Organic Market report revealed, sales and consumer demand for organic food is growing. The UK’s organic market is now worth over £1.7billion with sales increasing by more than 4% for food and drink in 2014. Our licensees are growing even faster than the market, with an average increase in sales of over 7% last year.
