Forest management

The Woodmark programme only certifies to standards which meet our requirements for quality and integrity.

Internationally we recognise and certify to Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) approved standards. In countries where there is no FSC endorsed National Standard, Woodmark has adapted the Woodmark Generic Forestry Standard for the country in which we are working. In the UK we also recognise the UK Woodland Assurance Scheme (UKWAS) standard which is supported by the Forestry Commission, Woodland Trust, FSC and environmental groups including the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Greenpeace.

In order to make FSC certification more accessible for Small or Low Intensity Managed Forests or Woodlands (SLIMFs), we offer an FSC certification system with reduced procedures.

We are also able to certify forests and non-timber forest products as organic using the Soil Association's own organic forestry standard. See the combined certification page for further information.
